In the snowy winter months, Alpine Treks offer guided snowshoe walks and tours for all levels and abilities in Chamonix and nearby alpine regions. Whether you are an intrepid mountain walker wishing to take your trekking experience to a new level or whether you simply wish a day off from the skiing to try something new, snowshoeing offers something for everyone. Our snowshoe adventures are usually possible from December through to May.

Snowshoeing is a fantastic way to explore the silence and beauty of the Alps in the winter months as the snowshoes allow you to access parts of the mountains otherwise reserved for climbers and back-country skiers. You don’t need any previous experience as it is very quick and easy to learn and, in the company of a qualified and experienced snowshoe guide, the safety is of the highest standard. It is not surprising that snowshoeing has become one of the fastest growing winter activities.

Chamonix is a perfect venue for snowshoeing and our private snowshoe walking trips can be tailored to fit any individual ambitions and fitness levels, including a non-strenuous low-level walk searching for animal tracks, an evening walk to a hidden mountain restaurant and challenging winter mountaineering trips ascending peaks in the area.
