We've hand-picked the most stunning routes, making full use of the extensive cable car and transport system in Chamonix. Each day, you have a selection of routes to chose from. For each route, there are easy, medium and hard variations, providing un-matched flexibility. This makes it a perfect independent walking holiday for people of any experience, including families.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Chamonix
Arrive at your hotel in Chamonix.

Day 2: The Chamonix needles and the Grand Balcon North

Day 3: Lac Blanc and the Aiguilles Rouges
We take advantage of the Chamonix cable car system and ascend swiftly above the tree line in the Aiguilles Rouges nature reserve. Our walk takes us to the beautiful Lac Blanc, a mountain lake high above Chamonix, with amazing views of the Mont Blanc massif. We enjoy lunch by the lake, and maybe a coffee at the Lac Blanc mountain hut, before we return to Chamonix.

Day 4: Vallorcine
You start the day with a train journey on the Mont Blanc Express to the small hamlet of le Buet in the vallorcine valley. From here, he small hamlet of le Buet in the Vallorcine valley. We ascend through woodland until, above the tree line, we arrive at the Loriaz pastures and the old Loriaz chalets, which are now run as a mountain hut for hikers. The views are spectacular To one side we can see the Mont Blanc chain and to the other side we look far up the Swiss alps. All too soon, it's time to commence our final descend to le Buet, and a celebratory drink at the old Hotel Buet, before we return to Chamonix.

Day 5: Free day in Chamonix
A day to explore the many other activities on offer in Chamonix. Or maybe just relax...
