Weekend Explorer Walking trip 2023

The Weekend Explorer Walking trip is perfect for people looking for a quick escape to a healthy alpine adventure

With regular, inexpensive flights to the Alps from most airports it is easier than ever to get away for a quick injection of fresh alpine air and a healthy trekking adventure. Our Weekend Explorer trips have become popular escapes for people with busy lives who find it difficult to take long periods off and people who wish to ‘dip their feet’ into alpine trekking before committing to a longer trip. This trip offers maximum flexibility in order to make the most of your limited time away. Available for individuals or groups, we tailor the itinerary to your needs and the current conditions in the Alps.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Meet in Chamonix
Arrive Chamonix valley and meet with leader in the evening for welcome and briefing.

Day 2: Aiguilles Rouges
A walk in the Aiguilles Rouges to the beautiful Lac Blanc, a mountain lake from where we have amazing views of the Mont Blanc massif and the Chamonix valley. This is a great day to get used to the altitude and familiarise ourselves with the terrain.

Day 3: Col de Balme and the Swiss border
From the village le Tour we walk to Col de Balme where we can lunch in a mountain refuge before returning to Chamonix. Depart Chamonix in the afternoon to catch flights back.

Your trip can be extended to spend an extra night in Chamonix and/or extra days in the mountains.
